Yo, I was wondering, how many of ya'll in here have an account on Clutchfans?

I've been lurking on that site since '98, I was a registered member 2 years ago, but I forgot my log in info, so I had to start a new account.

btw, is the forum activity always kinda slow? I understand you cats got lives, but compared to clutchfans it's sorta like a ghost town lol

I lurk on Clutchfans, but you can't really compare this or any other board to CF. I mean, where else are you gonna find a Rockets-dedicated forum that boasts 20000+ members?

That said though, Sports2 has its merits. Your threads won't get lost here! :D

I really like that policy, even if it restrains younger members from enrolling.

This forum does offer some real advantages. Functionality of the message board is limited on CF for new members (who they call "rookies"). No search, no editing posts, no starting new threads. Like Shape said, posting here should pick up during the season.

S2 is the greatest forum that will ever be part of your life. It isn't just about Houston or basketball, which sets it apart from various places in my opinion.

    Enjoy the new season.

Once the season gets going, we start having more discussion. Off-season is where it's kinda dead but as season starts, look for more posting.

used to be rowdie brandon, before clutch kicked me off for dogging tmac everyday after games, lol

i have no ill feelings towards clutch though......one time me and some other rowdies were kickin it with him at a bar, and he bought us a round of beers.........so he's pretty good in my book......................

I see durvasa around lol. I've been checking out Clutchfans since the T-mac trade. Unlike most of the old school guys here, I wasn't a fan since the Olajuwon days. I'm half-Chinese and so, when Yao came to the league, I was proud. I did some research on him, started watching Rockets games..and then that's how I became fan..of Yao, not really the Rockets. Then T-mac, my favorite player even before Yao was drafted, was traded to the Rockets. It was a dream come true. Orgasmic! My two favorite players on the SAME team! Been a hardcore Rockets fan ever since.

I love Clutchfans.net, but I think the posters here come up with more quality posts just because its not so 'mainstream'. I also like how there's not much discrimination against newer members, especially in terms of privileges. Although I understand why Clutch has to do what he does. There's quite a number of psychotic posters in that forum.

I hear you on the privileges issue....for reals, I see cats with 300 posts even 3000 posts, and they're still "Rookies". I'm part Chinese too lol From 1992- 2001 my I was pretty much a fanatic, but when we drafted Yao, I went from fanatic to Stalker status over night, haha.

Awesome. I wish Clutch would update the players page though.

One other possible advantage for this board during the season: I think it will be easier to interact with each other in game threads. On CF, it's hard to get any sort of conversation going during game threads, because hundreds of people are posting like every second.

Oh yeah, that's for sure. Especially now that there's none of those annoying auto-update threads that take up 20 pages.

Count me up as one of the banned ones from CF.net. I was an active member on CF up until I got banned earlier this summer. Not sure how, I think I was posting too much irrelevant 1-liners in the Hangout forum. Not sure if that merits being banned for almost half a year and still counting, but it's Clutch's site.

I really liked the CF's to-the-minute Rox updates and they have some really helpful members as well. I've met some of their members from the CF bball games, very nice people. Never had the pleasure to meet Clutch, but I've only heard good things about him from those who have.

My only complaints are a lot of the members take everything too seriously, even outside the GARM. I also agree with the whole "rookie" and "i'm a veteran member biatch!" attitude, it's childish. Some of Clutch's other banning decisions are questionable, but like I've said, it's his site.

Man sounds brutal. I hear alot of things about other sites here, but I've only ever posted on JBB then we became S2, so I can't really relate, but I can say that, alot is allowed here at S2, and it's very comfortable posting here.
