<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Rocky Mountain News - Coby Karl, the son of Nuggets coach George Karl, signed a free-agent contract with the Los Angeles Lakers according to The Riverside Press-Enterprise in California. Karl, a 6-4 guard from Boise State, will play on the Lakers' summer league team in Las Vegas. Karl had surgery to remove cancerous lymph nodes from his throat on April 2. It was his second bout with cancer in a little more than year. He is doing fine now</div>I honestly don't understand the move...I saw this kid play last season and he's simply not good enough to play in this league.

He's just signed for the summer league and pre-season guys...relax. He most likely won't make the team.

Hmmm...could he be the big combo guard Phil wants much like Ron Harper was? He is a very smart player.

I find it hard to imagine him playing with the team when the season starts.

He will most likely be let go, they only pay him if he makes the team.

He's not the worst player in the world, come on now. Yeah, he's got a lot to prove but he wasn't a bad shooter at Boise. He played the 2 there but was an excellent ballhandler and apparently has shown people that he can run the point, but he probably won't be able to get past opposing players at the next level. I think he might actually have a chance to make somebody's roster.

what do you mean "relax, he won't make the team" Poor guy, that happens and he's out of a job. What if he has kids or something. That NBA paycheck does real good for taking care of the fam.

But I said what I said about him before the summer league, I definitely think he has a shot now. He showed promise.
