Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo said yesterday he is going to continue to try to acquire another point guard -- even though T.J. Ford will begin working out this week. "I've been in communication with a number of teams, doing the normal course of activity in terms of making and receiving phone calls and talking about improving our basketball team," said Colangelo, adding that acquiring a point guard is a priority. Even though Ford, who suffered an arm stinger on Dec. 11, will begin workouts this week, he could still be four to five weeks away from rejoining the team. Jose Calderon is playing more than 40 minutes per game in his place and shooting guard Juan Dixon hasn't worked out as a backup. Some point guards mentioned as possibly being available include former Raptor Damon Stoudamire of the Memphis Grizzles, Jason Williams of the Miami Heat and Luke Ridnour of the Seattle SuperSonics. The Raps have previously expressed interest in Ridnour, but his game has tailed off and he is due $6.5 million US in each of the next two seasons. The Sun
key thing for Brian, make a smart move. Don't make a move just for the sake of making one, make sure you know it'll work and I'm not sure how much Williams will help us and the Ridnour situation is obvious, but be smart if u go after Damon, know what your getting
Jason Williams would be a good pick up, if we give up very little. I don't want to be trading Graham for Williams, unless a first round pick is involved. Luke, for me, is the best PG out of those 3 simply because he is healthy and can bring a good back-up PG presence. Damon would be awesome to bring back. Only thing is, how injury prone he is and like BasX said, Colangelo needs to know what he's getting out of Damon.
I agree with you on Damon over the other two mentioned. It'll probably cost you the least, with the least risk of disputing the locker room and Mighty Mouse would fill the role as well as Williams or Ridnour.

He would never give up anything near that much for a guy who wouldnt really have the right attitude to fit in with the current squad. Have faith, his track record speaks for itself.
I'm against wasting too much cap space on this move. In the larger scheme of things, we don't need a significant addition at that position (like Stoudamire, Williams, or Ridnour). Calderon/Ford should be back soon and we've signed Roko to hold down the 3rd spot for next season. The only reason its become such a problem is because, currently, we really don't have a backup PG. Juan Dixon is, and probably always will be, a shooting guard and Darrick Martin is crap on a stick. Find someone cheap, low-key, and preferably dumpable after this season.

What about that dude, John Lucas from Houston. I think he got cut, but he wasn't that bad. We could always bring back Roger Mason Jr, from Washington.
