And what a rout it was. St. John's had as many turnovers as made field goals (16) and had only 20 points on the scoreboard with 11 1/2 minutes left in the game. The 15th-ranked Hoyas dominated from the start Thursday night in a 64-41 victory that ran the Hoyas' winning streak to seven... Brandon Bowman scored 16 points, and Roy Hibbert had 14. They were a combined 12-for-16 from the field, a one-two punch that accounted for 30 of Georgetown's first 50 points as the Hoyas (17-4, 8-2 Big East) avoided a letdown in between games against ranked teams Pittsburgh and West Virginia.

    (19) Ohio St. 94, (22) Michigan 85 -- The AP reports: Thad Matta has been hoping for a big road victory since he came to Ohio State two seasons ago. Jamar Butler scored a career-high 20 points and had two of the No. 19 Buckeyes' season-high 15 3-pointers in a 94-85 victory over No. 22 Michigan on Thursday night... Center Courtney Sims had 26 points, a career-high 16 rebounds and four blocks for the Wolverines (16-5, 6-4), who lost consecutive games for the first time this season. He was not a factor late in the game, however, as the Buckeyes made it hard for him to get the ball in the post.

    (14) Pittsburgh 57, (9) West Virginia 53 -- The AP reports: He didn't make a shot from beyond the 3-point line, or inside it, either. A year after Pitt had no answer for Kevin Pittsnogle, he had no points and not much impact in a rivalry he personally decided last season. Ronald Ramon and Aaron Gray scored 16 points each and No. 14 Pittsburgh clamped down on ninth-ranked West Virginia with its man-to-man defense, winning 57-53 Thursday night to snap a two-game losing streak... Mike Gansey had 12 and Patrick Beilein 11 for West Virginia, which had won 15 of its previous 16.

    (21) Washington 87, USC 73 -- The AP reports: With a showdown looming this weekend against the Pac-10 leader, Washington coach Lorenzo Romar wasn't happy with his No. 21 Huskies after their convincing win over Southern California. Brandon Roy scored 25 points and Jamaal Williams responded with 15 after being pulled from the starting lineup to lead Washington to a quick start and cruising finish, 87-73 past sputtering Southern California on Thursday night... Nick Young scored 28 points and Seattle-native Lodrick Stewart added 16 for the Trojans (15-8, 6-6), who were without second-leading scorer Gabe Pruitt. Pruitt is expected to miss at least three weeks with a left-knee injury he sustained in practice this week. He had averaged 25.7 points per game over the previous three games.

    (13) UCLA 50, Washington St. 30 -- The AP reports: Senior Cedric Bozeman has been around the UCLA team since 2001 and has never seen a better defensive effort than the Bruins put forth against Washington State. Jordan Farmar scored 20 points for the 13th-ranked Bruins, who won 50-30 on Thursday night, and held Washington State to 27.5 percent shooting and 12 points at halftime... UCLA coach Ben Howland agreed, noting that Bozeman and Farmar have both shaken off nagging injuries to give the Bruins the depth they need this late in the season. Farmar, who was playing on a badly sprained ankle, scored 15 of his points in the second half, and he sank the only two 3-pointers in the game.</div>

A couple nice rivalry games up there. The basketball version of "The Backyard Brawl" and you also have the famous Ohio State v. Michigan rivalry up there. Good stuff. Impressive win by Pitt over WV as well.
