Collins will most likely be Boone's backup for the time being...and perhaps the rest of the season. I'm content with that. I think it was time to switch up the Net forumla and this may be one of the ingredients in doing so.

Josh Boone is our starting center as far as I'm concerned...including if and when Nenad gets back (soon I hope). Nenad never meshed style well and is more of a half court player...would love to showcase him and trade him at deadline hopefully for a solid young guard and possibly a draft pick depending on how well he plays.

Collins sucks at basketball and should not be in the league.

I have a feeling the "Collins Era" is just on hold for a few games.

There should never have been a "Collins Era" in the first place.

Disagree Boone actually has skills and is athletic something Collins is not.

I disagree also lol... you just insulted Boone to a whole nother level... you apologize now! lol

Boone actually has an offensive game to him... where Collins has none at all. Boone can also grab rebounds... where Collins again... doesn't for his 7 foot size. Collins may be known for his boxing out... thats only because he can't jump and other centers would just grab it over him.

So did the young Twin, plus Twin was a far better defender

Go back and watch the 2001 and 2002 Twin. It isn't an insult

Got to love how Boone just got a slap in the face from a Collins lover.

Let me make this very clear. Any more attempts to paint someone as a "Player X" lover will end your stay on this forum

To compare any player to Collins is a insult.

Kidd grabbed another 10 boards tonight. So much for Collins' blocking out.

Yo Mamma plays like Collins!! OOOH.
    Jpin.

Seriously, now, the young Collins was quite talented. I assume that you're a relatively young Nets fan, and that possibly you started to like the Nets when Boone got drafted. So, is it not possible that before you started watching the Nets, Jason Collins used to be a far better player? I'd say it's not only a possibility...it's a fact. He didn't get 6 mil a year for nothing. He showed alot of promise as a youth, as does Josh Boone...except, IIRC, he also showed less injury-proneness before that 6 mil signing.

So far, it's a pretty valid comparison to me. Would you argue that Boone is not injury prone? Because...if not, then it sounds like a possible Jason Collins the second to me. Injuries could ruin what talent Boone currently has, and turn him into another Collins. Think about that, let it sink in before you make a reply.

I never saw Collins when he was good, I was under the appresion that Boone was being compared to this Collins that we see now. Yes Boone has some minor injurie problems but as long as he can stay healthy i dont see why Boone cant be a very good soild starter in the NBA

Okay. Now we've got that cleared up.

I agree with you. The only thing that would really hold him back is size(which he could work on) and injury.

I watched all the 2001 and 2002 games with Twin and I know he never put up a 5 game stretch were he averaged 9.6 points and 8 rebounds a game...this is the 1st real opportunity Boone has gotten and he's taking advantage. Collins may be the most overrated player in NBA history. Too say his athleticism was ever anywhere comparable to Boone's is an insult. Even out of College Collin's weakness was his athleticism and laterall quickness which happen to be 2 of Josh Boone's better attributes...the knock on Boone was that he was 6'10 and might be too small to play center and that he lacks a faceup offensive game.

Bottom line Twin has only gotten worse as time has passed and currently Josh Boone is a major upgrade.
