"Cornerback Darius Butler contributed four tackles, two broken-up passes, a fumble recovery and a pair of interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown, to the Indianapolis Colts' victory Thursday at Jacksonville.

He looked like the second-round draft pick the New England Patriots made him in 2009.

    It's a good thing.

The Colts on Monday placed cornerback Jerraud Powers (toe) and reserve defensive tackle Drake Nevis (hand) on injured reserve, activated rookie nose tackle Josh Chapman from the reserve/non-football injury list and promoted first-year tight end Kyle Miller from the practice squad to the active roster.

It was tough news for a young team that has put itself in prime position to make a playoff push over the final seven games. The Colts (6-3) trail Houston (8-1) by two games in the AFC South but lead by the same margin over almost everyone else in the chase for the conference's two wild card playoff slots."
