The Indianapolis Colts signed running back Javarris James to the active roster and dumped the contract of linebacker Tyjuan Hagler. James is the cousin of the Colts' career rushing leader, Edgerrin James, and spent the entire preseason with Indianapolis. He was released Sept. 4 and joined the New England Patriots' practice squad two days later.
