I agree comcast's dvr sucks big time. I've used Tivo and Directv dvr which I still use, and comcasts is like a first edition from years ago or something. Is there any way to delete a program without going into the program and deleting it? The only feature that I kind of like that Directv doesn't have is you can set it to do a season pass for a program and have it do it for any channel. What's frustrating though is some programs it just won't let me set a season pass. Talking Ball is one of them. I can't get it to set it for season pass it doesn't have that option in settings.

Oh, well, I went to the dark side for a year since I got a deal for $29 a month for 12 months for the digital starter package, but I kept Directv. I drop NFL Ticket so I could afford it. I email Directv saying I was thinking about dropping them for Comcast trying to get NFL ticket for half price, which I was offered when I drop it, but also asking for super fan for free so I can get the games in HD. They email me back and said they value me as a customer, I've been with them since 94, and gave me three months of showtime for free and a # to call about getting NFL ticket for cheaper. Since the Cowboys are on reg tv the next couple weeks I'll probably wait and see if I can get it even cheaper with few less weeks left to the season.

My big decision will be in a year if Directv and Comcast hasn't made a deal.

I third that. Not just the dvr, but the remote sucks. It's like a qwerty keyboard - designed to slow you down.

It's interesting to hear all the hate for the Comcast DVR. I had one for a long time, until my last move where I switched to Verizon FIOS. Their dvr seems basically the same as the Comcast one to me. What am I missing out on, as I've never tried any others?

Invest in a high tech universal remote. I thought my home theater guy was just upselling me to pad the total (probably was) . . . but I love the universal remote he set me up with.

Welcome aboard EWT. Pay no attention to HCP . . . he is our "special needs" poster.

I heard that Barfo and Ed were out with someone's wife, so I'm left alone. I keep mis-remembering how to delete a poster, though...sorry to whoever had the "OT: why does my kitty make these noises as I pass Outlaw" thread.

    Do what I did -

Keep your DirectTV and add Comcast for 6 months - for the season, then cancel when the season ends. That's what I did, and now I am about to re-up for another 6 months. I use it only to watch Blazer games - it was like $30 /mo.

I dont think so. But they do replay each game at least once.
