That's something a lot of teams would love to have."</div> I would absolutely love to have Eddie Jones back on the Los Angeles Lakers. This is where he belongs. I used to like dude more than Kobe, he is such a great guy, and I do think he can be a great defensive player (something we need) to take the load off Kobe. I HOPE he doesn't go to the Heat, he has better chances with the Lakers, and Los Angeles is where he belongs. What you guys think?
Simple answer is yes. But how will this affect everyone? Evans, Vujacic? I don't even think we have room unless we waive/trade Aaron McKie, Shammond, or some other bench warmer.
<div class="quote_poster">Bahir Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">We don't need a SG/SF</div> We also don't need Shammond Williams or Aaron McKie. Waiving one or both of these players will allow us to make some additions. If we waive Shammond, we can pick up Eddie. Now that Mihm is expected to come back this season, this will fill our frontline to quite possibly the best in the league. Kwame, Bynum, Mihm, Turiaf. AND, we'll have room for one more pickup. You gotta keep in mind that we're basically 12 deep right now with Mihm out, and Mckie and Williams not getting any playing time.
I grew up watching E. Jones as a rookie, loved his game, but he has been critized with not being reliable during the playoffs. Regardless, he does bring years of experience to the table and he has a great shot and would definately be an upgrade over Shamu/Mckie. He might be a better fit in Miami or even Detroit (take the load of Prince or Hamilton?) though. I'm pretty sure he's reached his point where he wants his ring and that's understandable.
I bet Miami would love to get him back. He seemed to be defending very well for them from what I remember. As well as playing decently on offense. They should trade for Damon Jones have this lineup. PG: Damon Jones SG: Wade SF: Eddie Jones PF: Haslem C: Shaq
Eddie is a great player but will not fit in the line up. We already have Evans, Sasha behind Kobe's spot. I did hear a rumor that the Lakers were trying to get Jason Kidd for Kwame, McKie, and Chris Mihm. Anybody know about this? I heard it on the Local Radio station 570. Do you guys think this is possible before the trade deadline. Dude the line up will be sick: Kidd Bryant Luke Odom Bynum

I love Eddie Jones, but I don't expect the Lakers to make a move on him. The Lakers are hoping for something better before the trade deadline passes, and they need to keep McKie and Shamu around if they do end up pulling the trigger on a trade. If the Lakers don't find anything they like then we might see Penny Hardaway added to the roster.
Yeah, he was a true Laker back then when Kobe joined the league. I love his interviews in "Kobe Bryant - Beyond the Glory."
I wouldn't mind Eddie Jones. He's certainly an upgrade over Shammond Williams and Aaron McKie, but he won't be a difference maker. He probably won't even step on the court much if he does sign. I still question what he has left in the tank. I mean, if the Grizzlies cut you, it's not really saying much I'm all for an Eddie Jones signing, but if he signs elsewhere (Miami?) I wouldn't really care
damn! kobe needs someone in the mold of scottie to make his job easier a defensive stopper with the ability to score once in a while... LO is not the cat

LO is not the cat</div> Well, it's not like Eddie Jones would have made that big of a difference. Like I said, even if we did sign him, he wouldn't see much playing time. It would most likely be Jim Jackson part 2. Jones would be an upgrade over Aaron McKie and Shammond Williams, but that's not saying much. The guy didn't even have enough talent to stay in Memphis, one of the worst teams in the league. If he was brought in, it would have most likely been for the purpose of another veteran presence. He's washed up IMO
