who will you be rootin' for?with the C's out I'm rooting for the Raptors as I'm Canadian and I'm a big Bosh Fan.I'll also be rootin' for the Suns because I love their style of play and I'm not a big Mavs fan.I'll also be rootin' for whomever is playing the Lakers
You call yourself a Celtics fan then root for other teams?If the Celtics aren't in the playoffs, I couldn't care less who wins.
Well, I'm not just a Celtics fan. I'm just a basketball junkie, so even though it will suck that my team isn't in the playoffs, I'll still watch every game and follow it like a hawk. I'm a true die-hard fan. And yanks, I don't think it's "wrong" for people to pull for some teams to win in the playoffs. What's wrong with that? I mean if he rooted for a team playing against us, then sure that's a problem, but that's not the case. I would like to see the Bulls, Raptors, and Rockets do well. I really like watching the Bulls play, they are just an excellent defensive team and their energy level is off the charts. I like the Raptors, and it will be nice to see any Atlantic Division team do well if we aren't in it. And Houston is probably my favorite team in the West, they just do everything. They have two great players, they all play together, they play great team defense, they have excellent role players, and they are all unselfish.

Ok? I'm a diehard sports fan and I want my teams to win. I could care less abotu the other teams. I still love watching basketball, but I really don't care who wins I just like seeing quality basketball, which is what the playoffs present. I will still watch it even though the Celtics aren't in them, it just feels wrong to me openly rooting for another team.
meh different views then.I find it less interesting if I'm not rooting for a team.The C's are my team, but not all of my fav players play for the C's.Karl Malone is my 2nd most favorite player all time (after Larry of course) because my interest in basketball took off for me in HS and ever since (which is the late 80's).Larry, Kevin and Chief retired and the C's horrifically lost the future of the franchise in Reggie Lewis.If I had just followed mainly the Celts during the 90's, I'd be a fan of hockey or baseball by now. they were awful,awful teams.So I followed players I liked as well to make the season more interesting.I'm not about hoping bandwagons or anything, but I see nothing wrong with enjoying or rooting for other teams/players a bit.The way I saw it, if the Celts and Jazz had met in the finals in the 90's.Well have a good series Karl, but you're finishing second to the C's.I know some die hards take a hard stance on rooting only for their team. Call it blind and unquestioning patriotism. I just see it differently I enjoy the sport and get interested in more than just my team due to that interest.besides if you're team's inept ownership and Management has it in the toilet for over a decade (or two), you have to find something to keep you sane

I kinda angree with yankshater, I could care less who wins. But, I would have to say I'm rooting for the Bulls or Mavs.

I won't cry if the Raptors or Suns don't win it all, but they're the teams I'd like to see have some success. Which for the Raptors would be the 2nd round or even conference finals.For the Suns, it'd have to be the finals.With C's not there, I find it more interesting to follow the progress/success of other teams that have players I enjoy watching.and of course for the Lakers, I'd like to see a first round sweep for whomever they are playing :happy0144:
