Nothing new, but I like how he shook his head no when she asked if he still considered himself a Republican. Then goes on to say “it must be Joe Biden, there are values above policy that we should all consider. The rule of law, following the constitution.” He gets it, modern Republicans are flat out crazy now.
I saw this this morning. Comey is a guy I"d vote for. Level headed and no bullshit guy. He's right about Joe being the smartest candidate and best defender of democracy and the constitution in the running. The GOP want's an authoritarian state so badly they can taste it after Trump ripped that can of worms open.
Except Comey is partly responsible for Trump winning in 2016. He actually has the nerve to postulate in this interview about the reluctance to indict or announce investigations for Trump during the election season, when he is the same guy that announced the Hillary/email investigation days before the 2016 election. He is a rat that is trying to save face. I trust a human based on their actions, not on their words.
Ever read the in depth interview that was done with him around his decision making process for that? Although it was a huge mistake, and I pin the blame on him, his reasoning for doing so was actually pretty sound. I will see if I can find it, the guy clearly agonized over what to do and seems to genuinely regret his part in the whole thing.
I clearly think Hillary is responsible for Trump being elected ...her sleaze on Bernie's campaign sealed her fate...I didn't want to vote for her...that was my Gary Johnson vote election. Comey has since quit the republican party and had a pretty eye opening view of the GOP playbook before he turned 360. I never got the impression Comey played partisan politics when he made DOJ decisions.
Yep. Hillary screwed the pooch on this like she does so many things. She had so much potential... Oh well.
He regrets that, he has said as much in prior interviews....opening that investigation so close to the election. He was clear in this interview he doesn't want that happening again. He is aware of the effect it had. Though, Hillary and voters are too blame as well. Too many voters sat out the election because they didn't like either candidate and/or thought Trump had no chance and it was a done deal. Hell, Trump himself didn't even think he stood a chance. Hillary depended too much on letting Trump hang himself with his own words and actions, thinking it would be enough to win.
There's plenty of blame to go around. The DNC and Clinton campaign staff deserve a finger pointed at them too.
Hillary was the most hated politician in the country. IMO she lost because she was so far out of touch.
Hillary Clinton left office as secretary of state with approval rating in upper 70s. McCarthy admitted he staged hearings to bring her down.edia campaign coverage was horrible. Of course she made mistakes, every candidate does. After access Hollywood Trump seemed done. Then Comey announced email investigation publicly against all norms. Turned out to be nothing but swing and undecided voters either switched to Trump or stayed home.
