Wow what a game by Garnett on national T.V. If you missed it, you missed a hell of a game, and a monster game by Garnett on TV. This game proved so many things to people who doubted Garnett. First and formost, Garnett can rebound, you have to consider this guy the best rebounder in the game right now. He is the only Timberwolf on the floor that can rebound, and the Kings still can't manage to box this guy out and he goes for 25 rebounds. Another thing, he is so unselfish during the course of the game, it wasnt his best shooting night and he knew it so he let Spree take over the game, and let Cassell be the post man. Finally and probably most important, he CAN be clutch when you give him a chance. For once he wasnt surrounded by 3 defenders when he touched the ball in the final closing seconds, and he showed he will tourch you if you dont, knocking down 2 KILLER 3s. Yes its one game, but what a game, the Timberwolves had, 2 (!!) active players from last years roster (Garnett & Trent) and beat one of the best teams in probably the hardest place to play. When Wally and Hudson come back, and if Olowokandi comes back to at LEAST be a defensive shadow in the middle, and Madsen brings the engery off the bench, who will be able to keep up with them. Garnett 2003-04 MVP. <font size="1">Note to mods: Some stuff I had to let the Garnett doubters know, I will move this to the Wolves forum later. </font>
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">Who has doubted Garnett? You would have to be crazy to.</div> People saying he will never be able to take over a game in the closing minutes... and especially the people who said would dip because of all the new help.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting VAs Finest:</div><div class="quote_post">I doubted him, but not after last nights game, he left my jaw hanging...he gets my MVP vote</div>Way too early for my MVP vote(like mine matters), but he has played like an MVP thus far. I agree VA, he left my jaw hanging also.
I wonder how many KG doubters there are now. And do you remember Hoiberg trying to guard Brad Miller in the post? I cant believe that starting lineup worked <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post"> I agree VA, he left my jaw hanging also. </div> And Rudeezy, i think this is a more appropriate smiley  LOL
It's way too early to speak about MVP, not even half way yet. I never doubted KG, as far as being a great player, and really came out of his shell last year against the Lakers in the 1st round. But last night was a whole different story, I was one of those people who thought he couldn't take over a game, but he sure did last night. Also left my jaw hanging, big win for Minnesota. BTW: Nice sig purehoops
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Purple N Gold:</div><div class="quote_post">BTW: Nice sig purehoops </div> Who doesnt love Christmas, and KG, so I combined them. :biggrin2:
It may be too early to pick MVP, but if the season ended today I'd go with Garnett. I saw the game too, and when they were down 6 and KG stepped to the 3 line, i was like "are you crazy?!, let Sprewell or Cassell take it," but i had to pick up my lip after he drained it. I was thinking then that it was a nice try, but that the Kings would close it out, but then BMiller bricked those charity buckets, and i was thinking for sure Cassell would chuck up the desperation 3, or at least Spree. So you can imagine my surprise and mixed fascination when he dished to Garnett, who took ANOTHER three...and drained it. Right then I knew the T'wolves would win, even if it went to overtime.
I have a strange feeling the T wolves/ Sacro are gonna meet somewhere in the playoffs.& have a classic 7 game playoff matchup. Excellent game by KG, Spree & Sam I am played well too. P.S Purehoops you still have to get your bulls trade in for the trade tournament. I think the time limited is almost up for you to make your trade. I am who you are facing in this round.& I think you forgot to make your trade, so Iam just reminding you. I dont want to win by time limit. I want a fair matchup. So try & get your trade together ASAP

Ill get the trade in now, I keep forgeting about it... thanks for the reminder.
KG came extremely clutch, those two threes left me shocked. He hit one, so I was like, he can't hit another, and I think it was bibby RIGHT in his face.. and he did... just simply amazing.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">Who has doubted Garnett? You would have to be crazy to.</div> People doubt KG in the playoffs year in year out because of the lack of wins he has had. There are always questions of "Will he finally turn up and win his team the game? "If only KG was clutch in the post season Wolves could go far" I hope he does make to at least the 2nd round this year.To prove all his doubters wrong.Believe me..he has plenty.
You know, sadly enough, I'm starting to think that Garnett and the Wolves won't get past the first round this year again. I think they need time to mesh. But they can get past the first round once all the injuries are better. But once everyone is back, we will need more time to mesh.
