It's been on for about two weeks now. Has anybody been watching? What are your thoughts? Last night's episode was great, IMO. He had a bit with Slash from Guns N' Roses, where they visited some creepy hick from a craigslist ad. But the best parts came from the interviews, where Norm MacDonald and Jim Gaffigan stole the show.
Love Gaffigan. I've watched a few episodes. It doesn't feel like the Tonight Show. I liked Leno, he had a really laid back vibe to his show. It'll take me awhile to get used to Conan's new gig, but I like it so far. I haven't been impressed by his stand up, but his clips have been great. His skit last night was fucking hilarious with Slash.
Fuck I love Norm McDonald (Dirty Work anyone? Maybe the best comedy movie of all time) and Gaffigan, anyone know where I can watch it online? I've only seen one show thus far but I just moved back home for summer so I plan on catching a lot more. I keep turning it on towards the end thinking that Conan is gonna be on later but the show is already pretty much over.
Agreed. Norm is probably the funniest human being alive. He's the best talk show guest ever, as well. I loved this from back in the day:
I've watched most of the first two weeks. Pretty much the same as his old show, which should please his longtime fans.
Yeah, he had an 8 rating his first night and has dropped all the way down to the 3's. Letterman has been beating him the last couple nights, I believe. Leno used to get 5's just about every night and always beat Dave, so I think this was definitely a mistake by NBC.
That was a long time ago but I remember watching that episode when it first aired and feeling uncomfortable for Smith, who just got humiliated by MacDonald--rightly so!

Yes, Denny. That is the best bit ever. I don't think I've ever laughed harder than I did the first time I saw that.
Letterman's shows have much poorer though. The musicians, the guests, the comedy bits. I really haven't seen anything in his shows to warrant his lead in the ratings, other than primetime audiences sticking with what they're used to.
Always liked Conan, but I like Letterman too so I kind of switch back and forth. That's what the DVR is for though.
