EUGENE, Ore. – University of Oregon offensive lineman Carson York and tight end David Paulson have been named to the Capital One academic all-district 8 team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). As a result, both players advance to the national all-America ballot.

York, a redshirt junior from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, is a three-year starter for a UO squad that ranks fifth in the nation in both rushing and scoring offense. Off the field, he carries a 3.76 grade-point average in Advertising.

A nine-game starter at left guard this season, York also won all-district honors in 2010. He is a two-time Pac-12 all-academic first-team honoree.

Paulson, a redshirt senior from Auburn, Wash., has 17 receptions for 233 yards and a career-high tying four touchdowns this season. Now a graduate student, Paulson has a 3.67 GPA in General Business after carrying a cumulative GPA of 3.62 as an undergrad.

The Pac-12's returning all-conference tight end and two-time conference all-academic first-team member, Paulson was one of only four conference players to be named to both the all-Pac-12 and all-academic first-team squads in 2010.

To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.30 or higher and be a starter or significant reserve. District 8 consists of universities in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, British Columbia and Yukon.
