A bipartisan, bicameral agreement to overhaul Capitol Hill's oft-criticized workplace misconduct system is unlikely to get attached to a must-pass government spending bill this week, according to multiple sources tracking the issue.

The sudden shift in the fate of the Hill harassment measure, which negotiators were closing in on as recently as last week, jeopardizes its chances of getting signed into law by President Donald Trump.

Lawmakers and aides who shepherded the House version of the bill to passage earlier this year had eyed legislation keeping the government funded as the best chance to get Congress' own rules reformed before the midterm elections.

But with the spending bill hours away from public release and a Friday deadline to avert a government shutdown, aides on both sides of the Capitol were anticipating that the overhaul of the Hill's policies for deterring and punishing workplace harassment would fall by the wayside.

An overhaul of Capitol Hill’s workplace misconduct system is in jeopardy and likely won’t be attached to a government spending bill this week, diminishing the likelihood of reform before the midterm elections, according to Politico.

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), who introduced the bipartisan Congressional Harassment Reform Act last December, said on Monday that House and Senate leadership “stripped” provisions from the language from the spending bill at the eleventh hour.

“I am appalled that House and Senate leadership removed provisions from the omnibus bill at the last minute that would have finally brought accountability and transparency to Congress’s sexual harassment reporting process,” said Gillibrand in a statement released Monday.

Figures, there is no decency in the current congressional leadership. Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell are heartless spineless ineffective cowards who lack decency and courage.

Remember Dantes view on this subject "The hottest places in Hell are reserved for those who in time of moral crisis preserve their neutrality."

    Disgusting.

We should all start harassing women and use the Mike Tyson excuse. Basically if we're paying for the crime we should actually do the crime.

But the good news is that the measures put in place in 2008 to regulate those greedy predatory banking guys (who used all that bail out money to give themselves performance bonuses) are still working for us... oh wait...

Hadn't read that. Interesting, without knowing anything about it that seems like bullshit. I hate censorship.

    ???

I don't know. I don't know if Mike raped anyone. I do remember people getting pissed for him saying something that seemed logical to me. Said he didn't do it but if he was gonna do the time he should have.... something like that.

Tupac rape a girl? Never even heard of it.

It's still our money. We pay their fucking salaries.

From Trump on down they need to be ousted. Democrats, Republicans whoever the fuck. If you can't respect women, you shouldn't get to legislate for them.

If a business preauthorized a payout pool of money and some dick that works there harassed my wife I'd want to sue them for more because they in my opinion encouraged it.

If you are a congressman you can say to yourself "well, I really shouldn't do this but fuck it I won't have to pay"

If some guy harassed my wife, I'd have a face to face talk with him and if he persisted I'd break his nose.

One time I was in a line at the Hometown Buffet. My sister-in-law had gotten there ahead of us and according to Korean custom, paid for us 'cause she got there first. There was a long line. I had let my wife off at the door and went to park the car. I got there as my wife was working her way up the line. I saw a sign that said even if someone paid for you you must wait your turn in the line but a waitress was motioning us to come forward. I firgured that the waitress superseded the sign. Some great big guy with his two huge brothers and mom said to my wife, with their backs to me, "You no readee signee?!" Wham, I punched him solid. He saw me and immediately apologized. That was the end of that.

I might take quite a bit personally but I ain't a gonna take nothin' for my wife!

Oh no, same here. My wife and I worked at the same factory almost 20 years ago and my wife (girlfriend at the time) ran out crying. Her supervisor had screamed at her I was told.

Asked him to come onto a hallway in private. Asked him why she was crying and he said "because she is a baby"

Had him by the throat with both hands and lifted/slid his body up in the corner of the walls. Told him if he so much looked at her funny I'd break every bone in his body.

He started crying when I let him down and swore on his life he wouldn't say anything to her again.

I played cards with his boss every day at lunch. That day he said "please don't threaten to kill my employees" and we went back to playing cards.
