Quarterback Cooper Bateman of Salt Lake City, ranked No. 61 overall on the ESPN 150, committed Wednesday to defending national champion Alabama. Bateman, the No. 6-ranked quarterback in the class of 2013, chose the Crimson Tide over Auburn, Florida, LSU and Washington after visiting Tuscaloosa in April.
