    VITALS: 6-9, 185, Florida

OVERVIEW: Sank three big 3-pointers and scored 13 points as Florida became the first team in 15 years to repeat as national champions, earning him the Most Outstanding Player award of the Final Four. Finished career with Gators as the school's all-time scoring leader in the NCAA Tournament with 198 career points. Twice named to the Final Four All-Tournament Team. Ranked second on the team in scoring (13.2 ppg) and assists (2.9 apg) en route to being named to the All-Southeastern Conference first team. Named co-Defensive Player of the Year in the SEC in 2006. Recorded the first triple-double in school history as a sophomore, collecting 15 points, 10 rebounds and career-high 13 assists against Jacksonville.

    LIKELY DRAFT POSITION: 5-9.

    COMPARATIVE UPSIDE: Scottie Pippen

    COMPARATIVE DOWNSIDE: Penny Hardaway

ROLE PROJECTION: Versatile small forward; starter by second season.

POSITIVES: Brewer moves around the court with unusual quickness and certainty for a young player. He seems to be involved in every offensive and defensive possession, and there are very few players with the relentless energy to keep that up. He has no trouble blowing by defenders with a quick first step, but once he gets into the lane, you remember that he is 6-8 and can jump over a lot of people on his way to the rim. Defensively, Brewer can disturb any offense by zipping into plays from out of nowhere and creating deflections and steals.

SHORTCOMINGS: Brewer is thin, and veteran NBA players will knock him around every chance they get. He'll learn quickly that veterans with less athletic ability than he has at his disposal have found ways to compensate, and some of those aren't quite legal. Brewer doesn't yet have a dependable perimeter shot, and the sooner he gets one, the sooner he will be virtually unguardable and will start appearing on All-Star teams. Anyone as talented as Brewer must guard against complacency, because he has enough skill to survive in the league even if he isn't trying hard to improve.

I pretty much agree with this. Comparative downside of Penny Hardaway doesn't sound too bad talent wise, does it? Brewer has the desire to get better and if he gets a big contract he won't just disappear like Penny did. Whoever gets him will be getting a helluva player.
