http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/09/27/toronto-portland-added-to-dampiers-list-of-options/ Apparently the Heat opted not to sign him (cool, maybe he's pissed at them), and for what any team can pay him, he's a pretty solid option. Not great, but tree-sized guys who can defend the paint and rebound don't grow on trees.
I would say so. But at this point, we're still trying to be "flexible". And we do have a need at shooting guard. I would most definitely like to know that the Bulls have contacted him and told him they are interested, and would like to be made aware if he's looking elsewhere, or something like that. Once Melo settles down, and it's clear that Rudy ain't comin, then I would say get him.
He'd be fine as a vet min backup but he missed about a third of last season and I'm guessing he's about out of gas (although he did play a respectable number of minutes when he did play last season). He has always been a pretty solid guy. Still, I wouldn't invest more than that in him at this point.
