If Webster returns to form and continues to develop, his outside shooting will be extremely valuable with the starting unit. Having said that, I don't think you can take Batum out of the starting-5. He takes a lot of pressure off of Roy with his defense. Before Batum, Roy was guarding the opposing teams best guard/wing. Nic is starting to guard PG's and SG's and doing it very well. Could this work?

    PG: Roy
    SG: Batum
    SF: Webster
    PF: Aldridge
    C: Oden

I think it could work for short periods of time but I don't think there is enough ball handlers to work every game especially as the starting unit.

It is an interesting question, but I doubt we would see it this season. I also think that if we make a trade this Summer or during the draft it will be for a PG. This probably means that Martell is going to be moved in that deal.

I think Webster would play the role of SG on offense with Batum guarding both backcourt spots during the game. Something he's starting to do now.

I do not see this happen - because you now take away someone that can help Brandon handle the ball. This team is just too dependent on Roy in this situation.

The perfect solution in the future if Bayless does not pan out could be a line-up of Roy, Rudy, Batum, Aldridge, Oden with Blake, Bayless, Webster, Outlaw, Joel coming off the bench.

Defensively I think it would be a good lineup but having Roy doing all the PG duties and bring the ball up under pressure is maybe to much. I just don't want to wear Roy out before the 4th Qtr with trying to setup the offense and bringing the ball up everytime.

I think Web was actually drafted to be a SG, but he was moved to SF. I agree though, that we need more than one person who is comfortable handling the ball in the open court. Even Brandon Roy doesn't seem to comfortable bringing it up against pressure. I think Bayless is the future, but I don't know when he'll be ready. Webster's future is coming off the bench.

It's hard to imagine this, because of how bad we suck on defense right now, but we could become an outstanding defensive team in a few years.

Would be my 5. A great mix of defense, inside, and outside game.

    Blake
    Rudy
    Webster
    Outlaw
    Przybilla

That's one sick ass bench. 3 major scorers off the bench with Joel in there to provide some defense. The 2 units could be intertwined for some really fun lineups.
