I have a question: Isn't McCain using the government-allotted funding source, and therefore can't use private contributions, while Obama is using his private contribution money and not using government money? So why is John still fundraising?
My understanding is that the government gives John Sydney McCain $85 million, and then McCain is able to fund raise $85 million more for a total of $170 million that McCain can spend.
After reading McCain's letter to him, it appears to be nothing but a pat donation request sent to a New York address. The New Yorker just happens to work for Russia. I mean, I don't know how $35 - $5,000 from Russia would make any difference to his campaign . Besides, Medvedev/Putin wants McCain to lose, so that kind of request would be ridiculous.
