If he wanted the $2000 he should have participated in the drafting of the bill and getting his fellow republicans to agree to it BEFORE it was negotiated and passed. Pass the bill everyone agreed to then go back and add $1400 more. There is a rumor going around that when he golfed with Lindsay Graham yesterday he told him he wants the $2000 per person and NO extra $300/week for those on unemployment. He says the high unemployment numbers are hurting them so he wants the extra money and the extended time a person can be on unemployment ended so people will run out of benefits, be dropped from unemployment, and the numbers won't look so bad for him.
Its fucking sad that something like that - something so awful and seemingly far fetched - is most likely true just because of the type of person it is. And that's supposed to be the one helping us. Fucking sad.
He did participate in drafting the bill, he just forgot to lobby for raising the relief for nearly all from $600 to $2,000. He's an idiot.
He was to busy golfing and promoting his conspiracy theory about the election to be bothered. He sent representatives to negotiate on his behalf. I guess he never checked in with them? Personally I think he is going to do everything in his power to tank the economy they spend 4 years or when he looses his court cases, blaming Biden. His followers will believe every word he says. Just wait until his tax cut goes away and most of our taxes go up this year Trump and his cult will blame Biden for raising taxes, when in reality Trump is doing that also, well for all but the top 1% or so.
