Goaltenders need a little short-term memory loss from time to time.

Ilya Bryzgalov was roughed up for six goals in Friday night's 7-4 loss to the Detroit Red Wings, and he'll try to get back on his game when the teams meet again Sunday at Joe Louis Arena tied 1-1 in their playoff series.

"I don't even remember what happened," he said. "It's in the past. We got more games in front of us, and we've got to prepare. We've got to learn from our mistakes, what we did wrong, that's it."

He said getting mentally prepared after the playoff loss was not a big deal: "New game starts zero to zero."

Coach Dave Tippett said he is not concerned about Bryzgalov.

"He recognizes like the rest of us, everybody's game, the level can go up a little bit. When you give up six goals, it's a strong team effort
from the goalie on out," he said. "We all recognize we have to tighten that part of our game up, and I think Bryz will be much better, and I think our team defending will be much better."
