Mike Conway took the scariest ride of his racing life on the last lap of the Indianapolis 500 and lived to talk about it. On Wednesday, he said without hesitation that he will return.

Despite back and leg injuries that will require up to three months of rehabilitation, the Englishman sounded unfazed. He would like to race again this year, if possible.

"That's what I'm hoping for. It's definitely something to work towards," he said.

The end to his May 30 race sent a shudder throughout Indianapolis Motor Speedway. His car jettisoned high off the left wheels of Ryan Hunter-Reay's car and into a turn three catch fence, then landed on Hunter-Reay as it disintegrated.
