"Nothing against Jalen (Rose) and Donyell (Marshall), but that trade, everybody thought it hurt us as far as scoring. But they bring so much other stuff. They still score, but they bring the rebounds and defense and everything else. "I just like this group of guys, I really do. We've got the right mix. Especially when we get everybody healthy, we'll be fine." </div> I'm with him. I like the trade also. We are certainly a better team without those guys. http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/bulls.asp
The trade brought defensive consistency to the Bulls, which they needed. When Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler come back, then the Bulls will be a much better team. These injuries just sucked the life out of the team. I like the trade and it did improve both teams. Right now though, it has helped the Bulls more because Rose and Marshall are not playing very well. The trade now seems more even than it did at first. I think Crawford likes the trade because he can shoot a lot more, and doesn't have to worry about Rose taking bad shots.
Yeah. A big part of the trade was the defense. We now have a very good defense. You are right. Crawford doesn't have to worry about Jalen always takign shots. And now, he can pass it around, without it going to Jalen and him immidiatley shooting the ball. I agree with Jamal. Nice deal.
Best part of the deal was getting rid of Rose to showcase JC's talents. He is playing great basketball since the trade. He has shot bad from the field at times but that has to be expected of a guy new to being the number 1 guy. When guys like Curry and Chandler come back there will be less pressure and less focus will be on him which should allow him to improve even more.He still has some way to go yet before we can say "This kid is for real" but he is getting there.

With Jalen Rose gone, I think he has a better chance to develope that skill. He has definatley stepped it up since the trade. Although he had about a 3 game stretch where he couldn't but a bucket, he rebounded nicely with these last two games. It will be intresting to see if he can keep it up.
I disagree w/ one thing, Marshall is playing awesome at Toronto, but i LOVE the trade, Jamal is awesome. You guys are right when tyson and scottie come back, look out; here come the bulls. Tyson Chandler is awesome, stats are something like 13 ppg, 10 rpg
I think the Bulls have a fantastic young backcourt on thier hands. Kirk Hinrich is has is catching on and he and Crawford could be the Bulls backcourt for the next decade. Between those two, Chandler and Curry the Bulls have a nice group of young, viable talent that they need to keep together for the next 3 years or so and see how it pans out. However, I can't help but to think they would be a better team if they had kept Elton Brand and Ron Artest around. Especially since Jalen Rose didn't work out. Curry, Brand, Artest, Crawford and Hinrich would almost certainly make the playoffs, IMO.
