    First, truly sad she had to endure something like that. No one ever should have to deal with something like that. She seems very intelligent and yet will likely take a lifetime of recovery for such trauma.

    There is something to be said about firearms and how they are a last line of defense in these types of situations. Unfortunately most dont understand guns like she does.
    Then there are our laws. This guy is obviously mental, but he is dangerously mental. Many criminals also need mental help, but they meed to be place in facilities that provides safety to the public, prior to dealing with the mental aspect. Its complicated but mental help first is mot the answer as she has eluded to.
    more and more crazies out there. Regardless of how or why, once they become a danger, they need to be locked up. Then we try to get them help. But things like intensive outpatient programs largely don't work for this reason.

    Poor girl. Thats just insane.
