I go to bed convinced that Damp would be in NY and wake up to find that Vecsey is full of it. Now NVE is off to Portland? This has been one crazy offseason with its share of rumors and controversy. At this point I?m not going to assume anything. Well at least things are interesting and the Warriors are getting some attention.

Exactly. I love all the non warriors fans coming in here and ripping Mullin already, I just laugh.

I don't know if this offseason has kept me interested this much because of the all the moves and rumors or maybe just because I am actually paying attention. Whatever the case, I'm enjoying it.

I was begging in past seasons for even rumors. I love this off season. This is the best off season in recent memory.

You know I think there definitely shouldn't be any non-warrior fans coming here to start criticizing a team they haven't been following. Any move by any team will always have two sides and well frankly its too easy to start taking the side of unfair, subjective forms of media or any non-warrior fans who start coming in here and talking like they're the experts on these moves. I mean it's not very hard to point out the obvious (missing playoffs for 10 years, getting rid of Musselman who was the most successful coach in 10 years), but it seems to be the challenge for a few people to bring themselves out of ignorance and just wait to see the results of certain moves before they start criticizing. We all do it, but the whole point of being a good basketball/sports fan is you balance yourself between being biased towards your home team and looking at the organization from an outsider's standpoint. I just see too many jumping on what everyone else says without giving their own thoughts. Frankly, from an outsider's standpoint its too easy to pick on the Warriors, but from a fan's standpoint I see the improvements that are slowly happening that are important to a franchise rebuilding itself after the Cohan takeover, the series of poor drafts/poor trades with Twardzik and the whole Sprewell "Choke-gate" incident. We just got to wait and see whether Montgomery and the new signings will add to the improvement and not set it back after getting rid of Musselman. I mean the great team play we saw this year was the first sign something is going in the right direction and we will have to see at a later time if Mullin is still sticking to the game plan of building around teamwork with the young core group of players like Richardson and Murphy. As a GM you have to be gutsy in order to take advantage. It's like trying to win the office pool in those NCAA tourney brackets. You gotta pick teams that aren't the lock to win because that's how you win when the upsets happen. I think Mullin is definitely going to do something gutsy later on. But for now he's got the right players IMO to surround the young core of Richardson/Murphy with and add to that core as opportunity comes along. BTW for those that haven't followed the warriors, can you imagine still coming in 10th or 9th with no point guards, only one center, a 37 year old power forward that is actually more of a small forward in the Western Conference. I give these guys credit from an outsider's point of view. Wouldn't you? It's just like the Miami heat overcoming all doubt when they were losing badly in the beginning of the season. Warriors were definitely expected to do worse than they actually did last year since Arenas and Jamison were no longer there.

BTW Just like some pick on the Warriors moves, I could pick on the Nets right now for some of the moves they made with Kmart, but I know enough of what's going on to not entirely blame the moves the new ownership made. From a nets fan standpoint it must be frustrating since the Nets went far with Kittles, Kidd, Jefferson and Kmart, players I all like. but what do you expect from new ownership looking to start over and build their own team, with their new budget? Also its a bit obvious to see that the Nets have lost the window of opportunity to compete like they used to a couple years ago in the finals (salary cap probably put a strangle hold on their flexibility to sign key reserves).
