Despite being champions of the main 1-day competition in the past 2 years, Essex have ZERO players in the England team. Could someone please explain this? A vital ingredient in one-day cricket is knowing one's role in a team, so I suggest the following for the World Cup:

    Pettini
    Irani
    Pietersen
    Flower (qualified I believe?)
    Bopara
    Flintoff
    Foster
    Middlebrook
    Gough
    Lewis
    Panesar

Obviously with overseas players you have to make a couple of changes but surely we can't argue at least the following changes would improve the team:

    Irani for Strauss
    Flower for Bell
    Bopara for Joyce
    Foster for Nixon
    Middlebrook for Dalrymple
    Gough for Tremlett.

The 2 who I feel really bad for are Foster (God only knows how he upset Fletcher) and Gough, who bowled well during the Summer and was let down by some shocking catching / communication from Read and Trescothick in the slip cordon.

    Essex for the World Cup!
