That's probably going to be my major in college, since I'm strongly looking at the possibility of becoming a cop. Not just an NYPD cop, perhaps a detective or something along those lines. I just thought about making this thread; maybe some of you can share your opinions concerning my career choice.
Well, if you go to a major Division 1 school, you'll have classes with lots of football and basketball players. Of course, be prepared to be pissed off about how little work they have to do.
John Jay would be an excellent choice indeed, and becoming an NYPD detective would certainly be a similarly great decision. If there's anything you need regarding legal aspects of criminal justice theory, feel free to ask.

I've read that I have to go through regular cop duty first, but in terms of difficulty, what are the chances?
Aside from showing merit in your work, you'd have to pass the detective's exam. Whether that's difficult or not will depend on your abilities, including test-taking skills and knowledge of the material.
Ok cool. I don't have anymore specific questions right now, but if you have any random information, then just throw out here. The more I know the better.
If there's one thing I'm full of, it's random information. [Though my wife would say that 'myself' is a better answer. ]

I'm hoping to feel the love myself tonight. [Unless she reads this, in which case I'll feel the pain. ]

The groom to be is suppose to be given a large jar/vase/container and told to put a bean/penny/rock in it every time he and his bride have sex their first year of marriage. Then, every time they have sex after that first year, he is to remove one of the beans/pennies/rocks. The joke being that the jar/vase/container will never get emptied
