<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Kennedy Winston dribbled between his legs, took a jab step and threw a head fake. He still couldn't get Branden Vincent out of his face.

    No problem.

The Alabama forward simply faded away and launched over Vincent's outstretched hand, falling back toward his bench while the 18-footer ripped through the net.

It was that kind of day for the Crimson Tide -- and boy did they ever need it.

Winston scored a career-high 31 points to lead Alabama to a 77-73 upset of Mississippi State (No. 5 ESPN/USA Today, No. 4 AP) on Saturday, snapping the Bulldogs' eight-game winning streak.</div>

haha! great. knock out those 5-7 teams so you know who can climb back up to the top of the polls. [IMG] now if only they can knock them down even further on march 6th!

alabama isn't so bad this season.. they have had quite the tough schedule if you ask me.. and they played all their top 25 games fairly well losing between 5-15.. (ok, 15 is pretty bad.. but it's not 20+, 25, 30... but most are in the 8-10 range).

if they can finish the season 4 and 0.. i want to see where/ if they get seeded.

This was a good game for the SEC. Alabama has one of the top ten (pretty sure) schedules in the nation, and this pretty much guaranteed a seed in the tournament. Now they have a quality win to go along with all of their quality losses. Even if they finish with thirteen losses, they'll still make it thanks to their schedule strength and this win. On the other hand, this stung the SEC a bit by dropping Mississippi State from the #1 seed rankings. They'll most likely get a #2 seed now with Kentucky. Not much of a difference between the #1 and #2 seeds though.
