I know Shaq appreciates your leadership as well. He called out your team a few weeks ago saying it was "embarassing'. Great leadership DWade. Your coach sat players for being fat. I guess you couldnt lead them away from the buffet.

You are an amazing player Dwayne. I love watching you shoot free throws. What you know about Dirk's leadership skills is non existent. You don't have a clue. Your ability to evaluate leadership skills....well you obviously have an overinflated value of your own. Did you take business classes at Marquette ?'' </div>

Hahaha so true. Good to see a rivalry building up.

well obviously dirk doesnt know how to lead as well as wade. anyone remeber the finals? who was the mvp? oh yeah, dwyane. who LEAD his team from an 0-2 hole to a 4-2 championship? oh yeah, dwyane. who did things in the finals that people could only compare to jordan? oh yeah, dwyane.

mark cuban needs to get some respect for others or even manners. i will admit that i LOVE that hes willing to stick up for his players in such a way, but overall it just makes him look terrible.

He's treating Dirk like a baby. This is a feud between two men and Cuban has to butt in like he's Nowitzki's mother or something. Normally I don't mind his outspokenness, but this is one of those occaison's where you gotta let your player handle it himself.

I understand what you're saying but Dirk doesn't have to respond to something that Dwayne Wade says in an interview! They don't have a feud. Dirk will most likely not respond, why should he care what Dwayne Wade thinks about his leadership skills. He's too wise to get involved in that back and forth b.s. Cuban likes to trash talk and that's why he posted that.

this is GREAT, I understand Mark sticking up for his players, but it still doesn't change the fact that Dirk is a cake under pressure...lol...

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You are right, endings are remembered. And the ending of 3 of the games of the Finals will be remembered alongside Game 6 of the King vs Lakers Conf Finals a few years ago.
    </div>

lol, you can't compare those 2 games if you're talking about the officiating...Dallas had that game in the bag, and they let go of a big lead....that's all on them.....

Don't rule out a rematch of last year, although with every game Miami is making this look less and less likely

I wasn't expecting that kind of quote from Wade. He seems like he took it to Dirk personally by questioning his leadership abilities.

    Bad on Wade's part, IMO.

Nowitzki won't comment on Wade's criticism

Cuban defends Dirk after Wade criticizes his Finals play

Dirk Nowitzki declined to respond to pointed criticism from NBA Finals MVP Dwyane Wade.

Nowitzki said after the Mavericks' win over the Rockets that he wasn't going to get in a back-and-forth trash-talking exchange with Wade. Nowitzki acknowledged that Wade's comments would serve as motivation.

Coach Avery Johnson also stuck up for Nowitzki, saying he was a leader with a history of hitting clutch shots. Johnson, however, said Wade's comments weren't worth getting worked up about.

"It's a guy's opinion, man," Johnson said. "He's won. He's the champion. Everyone's trying to dethrone them. ... When you win, I guess you can say whatever you want to say."</div>

D-Wade's cheap shot is air ball against Nowitzki

    IN MY OPINION

"I really got nothing to say to that," Nowitzki said. "We're not going back and forth. I don't really know why [Wade] said those things. He won the Finals, so it's over. They were the best team.

"More than anything, this is going to motivate me even more... [and] hopefully, we'll get that rematch [in the Finals]."

The Mavs' next home game -- Feb. 22 -- is against D-Wade and the Heat. You might circle that one.

Wade's idiotic remarks came following a Thursday practice in Cleveland.

Out of one side of the mouth, he termed Dirk's demise the result of great Heat defense. Out of the other side, he said Dirk "wasn't assertive enough as a leader's supposed to be."

    Which was it?

Wade -- Finals MVP in a series that Miami won in six games, including the last four in a row -- has dubbed himself and LeBron James as players who know how to finish. Not Dirk.

Said Johnson: "First of all, we [Mavs] don't talk. We have more respect than that for our opponents.... We don't want to show a guy up."

Johnson said he used disparaging comments as a player as motivation.

"I couldn't wait to play against anyone who doubted my ability," he said. "Dirk is already a highly motivated player. He's a solid leader."

    Killer instinct?

"He's got it," Johnson said of his 7-foot All-Star. "If anyone has been watching us... [they know] Dirk's already got it."</div> http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/sports/16670075.htm

"I'm not a motivator. I've never been," Wade said. "Everybody's looking for me to come in and make a speech. It's not going to happen, man. I just try to go out there and play and hopefully my play speaks for itself.

    - Dwyane Wade
