Chicago Cubs manager Mike Quade is taking a cautious approach with the sore left wrist of Carlos Zambrano and will use a designated hitter during the pitcher's fifth start of the spring on Friday. With a home game against the Cincinnati Reds, the Cubs would typically bat the pitcher. But Quade opted to protect Zambrano from having to swing a bat by using a DH.
