The Cubs announced the signing of outfielder Chris Denorfia to a one-year deal Friday. Denorfia, 34, split time with San Diego and Seattle last season, compiling a .230 batting average to go along with three home runs and 21 RBIs in 330 at-bats. He is a nine-year veteran who broke in with Cincinnati Reds in 2005. "He can play both corners and some center field in a pinch," general manager Jed Hoyer said. "Good in the clubhouse.
