Chicago Cubs outfielder Tyler Colvin has been released from a Miami hospital, three days after part of a broken bat punctured his chest. Cubs spokesman Peter Chase says Colvin was released Wednesday and will return home to South Carolina. The season-ending injury occurred during the second inning of Sunday's 13-3 win over the Florida Marlins. Colvin was standing at third base when he was struck by a sliver of Welington Castillo's broken maple bat. Castillo doubled on the play and Colvin scored.
