He recommended the genetic test with hopes of ruling out the condition, and the Bulls are adhering to his opinion. "There's one guy who isn't sure," Curry said. "I can live with that because of what the other doctors say." Bulls general manager John Paxson declined to comment. Last week he indicated the Bulls will compel Curry to submit to a genetic test during the team's physical exams Monday?assuming Curry accepts the team's one-year qualifying offer of $5.14 million. "I'm definitely prepared to do that," Curry said of accepting the offer. "One year, $5 million isn't the worst thing."</div> <div align="center"> Source</div>
Best Kept Secret thanks for the info. well hopefully this 1 year deal will be temporary fix. then the Bulls will kill this year and we can resign Curry for another 5-6 years. Go Bulls!
probably the best thing for the Bulls. Lets see if Eddy is a one year wonder or if he can actually play consistent ball.
The Bulls organization will have to spend the entire season repairing their relationship with Eddy Curry. The downside is the distraction this is going to bring to the rest of the team. Just imagine stepping on the court with a teammate who could possibly have a heart attack on any given night. It's going to be in the back of his teammates' minds every night. Another downside is if Curry plays well and shows no signs of having heart problems, he can simply spite the Bulls and leave as an unrestricted free agent. With the possibility of him bolting, the Bulls might have to deal with trade rumors all season long, which is another distraction. On the upside, the Bulls are only a handful of teams with cap space next summer. Their biggest competition for Curry is going to come from Atlanta. The Hawks have positioned themselves to make a run at Curry if he holds up this season.
