    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">January 18, 2006 -- For a professional athlete to admit he's nervous, there usually has to be a great reason.
Well, before he was traded to the Knicks in October, Eddy Curry had never been away from the Chicago area for longer than a week. Tonight is Curry's homecoming, and the 23-year-old would like to be crowned king for a night.

"I want to play good every game, honestly," the Knicks center said. "But it would be that much sweeter to have a great game against those guys."

"Those guys" are the Bulls, who drafted Curry fourth overall in 2001 after the local standout starred at Thornwood High in Chicago's south suburbs.

Things soured last year when Curry, then a restricted free agent, was asked to take a DNA test to investigate a heart problem. He had missed the final 13 games of last season, along with the playoffs, with what was diagnosed as benign arrhythmia, and the club didn't want to re-sign him without first ascertaining if he had a potentially fatal condition.

Curry balked at the unprecedented request by Bulls GM John Paxson, who then traded Curry to the Knicks along with Antonio Davis for Tim Thomas, Michael Sweetney and draft picks.

The 6-foot-11 pivot admitted it has taken him time to adjust to a new city, but he's glad the focus is on basketball rather than heart issues. Curry has about 35 tickets set aside for family and friends tonight. </div>
