A source familiar with the talks between the Bulls and agent Leon Rose said Thursday that "it looks more and more'' like Curry will play this season for the team's one-year qualifying offer of $5.14 million guaranteed.

Rose, who has not returned multiple messages seeking comment, reportedly had been seeking a team with which the Bulls could work out a sign-and-trade deal for Curry, who was sidelined late last season by heart arrhythmia. Those heart troubles also led the NBA's insurance carrier to refuse to guarantee any contract for Curry.

Curry, who has yet to find alternative coverage, also sought an offer sheet from other teams, but none was offered.

Bulls general manager John Paxson all but dismissed a sign-and-trade scenario during a Sept. 6 interview on WSCR-AM (670).</div>

Pargo's deal could be finalized next week, when the Bulls also are expected to finalize the acquisition of Sacramento Kings restricted free-agent forward Darius Songaila.</div>

Is Jay Williams ready to come back? (ie. is he ready to start playing again or is he still rehabbing)

He is ready to return, but with Pargo resigning the possibility of us resigning Jay Williams is slim to none. He would be the fourth point guard we have in the rotation, and the third we signed to a new contract this season, should he sign. He has had tryouts with the Rockets and Heat thus far though no contract has been offered not to mention the Raptors heavily pursuing him. After we sign Songalia this week I would be surprised if we had room to even make an offer to Jay. Oh, well I am just happy to see him back in the NBA I loved the guy after his rookie season, and tried to keep as up to date as possible during the time he was recovering. He will be with a NBA roster on opening day.

yeah as soon as i saw Pargo going to resign i thought Jay was no longer going to be a chance to sign.
But i do hope he catches on somewhere.

But the Bulls? stance all summer has been if Curry or Tyson Chandler decided to sign the one-year qualifying offer and become an unrestricted free agent in 2006, so be it.</div>

Trade him! Go for Gasol or Z-bo! I'm tired of Eddy Curry antics clogging up the headlines every summer. One summer without contract controversy's all I ask for.

I would jump at the opportunity of getting Randolph and moving Chandler to center. I heard last season rumors prior to the trade deadline that they were interested in moving Randolph so it would definitely be an interesting scenario.

Why would the Grizzlies ever trade Pau Gasol for Eddy Curry? Not only is Pau Gasol a much better player, but he's in perfect health and creates a lot of mismatches on defense because of his length. The Bulls would probably have to package both Tyson Chandler and Eddy Curry to draw Gasol from the Grizzlies. Shooting for Zach Randolph is also shooting too high. Why not a player like Drew Gooden? I'm sure he's more available than ever with Donyell Marshall playing for the Cavaliers now.
