Donavan Darius wants to play for the Vikings so bad that he wrote a letter to the startribune.com asking for them to get him. I'm beginning to think that players like Darius or Burress say they want to play for the Vikings because they see the large cap number. I would like to get Darius, though...in fact I think trading our #18 for him would be worth it.
Darius wants to play for any team that will give him a long term contract....he contacted the Dolphins in a similar way....I think hes a bit overrated though, hes never made the pro bowl, but he wants elite player money, hes a coverage liability, but he does fly to the ball and crack heads....
The good news is that he pretty much burned the bridge in Jacksonville...he'll be playing in a different uniform next year. He would be a huge improvement over Brian Russell. Hmmmm...that would be a great secondary...Winfield, Surtain, Darius, Chavous. Sorry, I'm dreaming again.
He's a bit of an overachiever and is definitely worth having on team, but is still not a starting safety. I would not want him to be released...he's a good hitter. But if we can get DD I would like to see him next to Chavous.
I sure hope he does not go with the Vikes! They just keep getting better and better on D, the pack is gonna have a tough time keeping up especially since we have done exactly nothing but release good players an not signed any replacements.
