Everyone but Hayes played good, but this is one of those games where defense would've changed a lot, the team desperately needs Kwame's defense in the frontcourt, and Steve Blake's defense in the backcourt. <u>Leaders</u> Wizards Scoring Leaders(s) 23 points Mavericks Scoring Leaders 32 points 28 points Wizards Assists Leader 9 assists Mavericks Assists Leader 11 assists Wizards Rebounds Leader(s) 9 rebounds Mavericks Rebounds Leader (s) 13 rebounds Wizards Steals Leader 5 steals Mavericks Steals Leader 4 steals Wizards Blocks Leader 4 blocks Mavericks Blocks Leader 2 blocks Wizards Player of the Game 23 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 steals, 3 turnovers, 8-16 FG Mavericks Player of the Game 28 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 3 turnovers, 9-18 FG, 4-6 3PT, 6-6 FT
I watched this game and I liked what I saw from the Wizards on the offensive end. Now defensively.......that is another story. BTW nice to see Hughes split time with Arenas at the 1 position. He got people in good position all game while being patient with his offense. This guy is good.
How about that, Brendan Haywood led the team in steals, and blocks. And you guys made fun of me when I said Brendan was a better defender than Kwame. Jamison had another big night in a losing effort. But yes we definitely need Kwame and Blake to help out. Things will trun around when they are back in the lineup.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting eYeKey:</div><div class="quote_post">Wizards allowed 122 pts...pathetic. </div> Your playing Dallas how is that pathetic???
122 pts in 4 quarters of basketball. that is 30.5 pts per quarter. According to NBA.com, Dallas averages 102 pts per contest (no doubt the wizards game bumped that up a bit). It's not like they are the Suns *(who average 107 fyi)* 102 pts is the Mav's avg. Now that leaves us with 20 pts to account for...in regulation. That is unacceptable. Maybe we should become the Washington Bullfighters with that Matador style defense.
