    THE LOWDOWN:
The Mavericks need to capitalise on the injury woes of the Nuggets by exploiting them up front, despite having Marcus Camby. Both Nene and Kenyon Martin are out for the Nuggets, so no-one will be able to guard Dirk. A small factor is the matchup between Terry and Andre Miller, two under-rated point guards in this league. Both are capable scorers, and will prove to be a big part of this game.

Josh Howard vs Carmello Anthony will also be a big matchup, if Josh can stay out of foul trouble and guard Carmello Anthony I believe he can hold him to a respectable amount. If he can get Carmello annoyed, it's a big plus because Anthony will then try to force himself into the game

    MAIN MATCHUP

This season, Marcus Camby is playing as if he's the best center in the league. With both power forwards out for Denver, Camby has been averaging something crazy like 16-14-4. Dampier has to play with some heart, boxing him out and stopping him getting so many rebounds. If Dallas can get more rebounds, we have a better chance of winning.

Dallas Last Game 109-103 win over Oklahoma City
Denver Last Game 102-91 win over Minnesota

    VARIABLES
    - Kenyon Martin missed the game against Minnesota
    - Jerry Stackhouse has missed the entire season</div>

Keith Van Horn is questionable for tonight?s game against Denver because of a swollen middle finger on his right hand.

Van Horn injured the finger late in Saturday?s win over New Orleans. The sixth man who has averaged 14.2 points through six games did not take part in the Tuesday morning shootaround.

For the Nuggets, coach George Karl said Tuesday morning that forward Kenyon Martin would likely be available to play. The 6-9 Martin missed the Nuggets? last game because of left knee tendinitis.

Series: Mavs won two of three last season; Nuggets all-time 67-65

    Key matchup

Carmelo Anthony vs. Josh Howard: Now in his third season, Anthony has embraced coach George Karl's philosophy and has become a more efficient player. It will be one of Howard's biggest challenges of the young season. Anthony has done almost everything well, except shoot 3-pointers (he's 1-for-11). Howard has not shot well from anywhere, but he has been a good defender and rebounder. The Mavericks are confident his offense will come around, which would force Anthony to work more on the defensive end.

    Inside the Mavericks

The shape of things to come: Coach Avery Johnson said Monday that his team is nowhere close to the kind of physical condition that he would like. But that's not anything to panic about, he said. "We're not close," he said. "But I don't think any team is in the kind of shape right now that they want to be in late in the year. It's a work in progress."

Briefly: They shot 51.4 percent Saturday and beat the Hornets, the 58th consecutive time they have won when shooting at least 50 percent from the field. ... When two Mavericks have topped 20 points in the same game, they are 4-0 this season.

    Inside the Nuggets

Camby is the man: He's coming off a 22-rebound game against Minnesota and is averaging 14.1 rebounds and 16.1 points. He was the Western Conference player of the week, and given the Mavericks' subpar play at center so far, slowing Camby down is crucial. "He's a handful right now," Avery Johnson said. "He's eating rebounds."

Briefly: Former Maverick Eduardo Najera is averaging 6.7 points and 5 rebounds off the bench, although he's shooting only 35 percent. ... Denver has won three in a row. ... Kenyon Martin, the usual starter at power forward, is questionable with left knee tendinitis.

    Holy ****!

    Go Diop! 16 rebounsd, 6 blocks, 2 steals, 4 points, 36 minutes, 4 fouls, 0 turnovers!

If he can keep his form up, then we could see him starting? He's averaging 2 bpg off the bench, before this game!

Dirk with a big 4th quarter to catch up and win us the game! Who saw it?
