Lanny, Lanny! It was said in jest. The little winking face was a hint. But it does bring up a fair point. It’s often said by some around here that big men can’t lead a team to a title in today’s NBA. I believe that the thinking is that the 3-point shot has negated the value of dominant interior play. I wonder if that’s true, or if it’s just a case of there not being any super-talented big men in the league right now. I have a feeling that Wilt, Russell, Kareem, Walton, and Hakeem would still be pretty darned effective today. Obviously, you’d want good three point shooters surrounding them, but those guys were totally on a different talent level than the best bigs of today.
