He's playing with a team that plays defense on a string the right way...that's Spoelstra's skill, not Herro's so much.
Not sure if this was already brought up since the Shams article about Dame only willing to go to training camp in Portland or Miami. Could this be interpreted as Dame backing out of his trade request?
I suppose....but there could be other interpretations: * Dame & his agent have had their ears boxed by the NBA and have reacted with radio silence * Dame sees that Miami is low-balling Portland and has 2nd thoughts about how much they want him * Dame was reluctant but always willing to stay in Portland if the Blazers could not find a trade * Dame wanted Miami more than Portland, but Portland more than any of the other 28 teams * Shams is full of shit
This is good news. I felt like Joe's language and the reporting about our front office sounded like we were waiting to see what the offers were going to be. Now if we trust Woj, it sounds like our front office is reaching out and actively trying to resolve this situation. I hope we find a deal that we'll at least be OK with as fans before training camp starts.
I don't think it's good news or bad news. Looks more like no news except that Portland 'may' be talking to 3rd teams to see what Herro is worth. Maybe Lowry too. That's something Miami should have been doing
A discussion like the one between these two doofuses is the reason this deal hasn’t been done. Actually debating Jovic or Jaquez to offer to Portland when it should be both is ridiculous. Reminder to all on what the Jazz got for Mitchell: - Markennan - Sexton - Ogbaji (R) - unprotected 1sts in ‘25, ‘27, ‘29 - swaps in ‘26 and ‘28 You can’t get rid of Dame for anything less than unprotected 1sts in ‘24, ‘28, ‘30 and swaps in ‘27 and ‘29. Jaquez is your R. The odds of getting anyone like Markannen are nonexistent, but could Miami even get anyone who is as proven as Sexton? The package the Heat find for Herro has to be good enough to offset the fact that there will be no player returning who are anywhere near as proven as Markennan or Sexton. That’s where I need at least a 1st and expirings or a young player for Herro. Don’t even have to consider trading Dame until this year’s FAs can be eligible to be traded.
Yeah, you would think that Miami would be the more motivated party to get the deal done....thus inquiring about interest for Herro from other teams. Maybe they don't really want teams in the East getting Herro.
Clearly, finally confirmation that Dame does, indeed, drink like a fish (or he has the maturity of a teenage girl).
today's Dame trade talk on twitter has made fans over on Blazers Edge lose their marbles. A) Dame should forfeit his contract B) Miami totally sucked last year C) Commissioner Silver loves the Blazers so much, the new penalties for benching All-Stars does not apply in Portland.
any time you think S2 has collectively lost it's marbles, all you have to do is visit Blazer's Edge for some perspective; it's a loony bin
the best one I saw... when Damian gets to camp, he's is going to love the "new look" Blazers team. It will inspire his confindence, and Lillard play the most wonderous basketball of his career. Lead the NBA in scoring.
What's better for the development of Scoot ? playing him out of position at SG/SF with Lillard, in the high pressure cooker to win NBA games? Or giving Scoot max opportunity to play PG, low pressure atmosphere, learn the correct skillset, and grow chemistry with his young teammates?
Bad sign for the Blazers if he does play for us and lead the league in scoring, means others aren’t stepping up and contributing. If he isn’t traded before the season starts, I hope Billups enforces a faster paced team ball rather than yet another year of Dame walking it up the court and the Blazers playing Dame & the Dumplings ball.
Assuming Dame is still here, I’d lean toward Scoot-pg & Dame at sg with Ant & Shae getting their fair share of minutes as well (at least Shae, not an Ant fan so don’t care much there).
