Man, we've got a great one. I know I've been saying that for a long time but I don't know if there's been a guy in sports that has been such a high level athlete and celebrity that has been more about other people than himself.
I know I've questioned from a basketball perspective if him and Ant can't make it work if we would be wise to trade Dame but even if it's the smart move, it'll just gut me. I want the guy to stay here, I think he deserves championships and I want him to retire never having played for another team.
He's so great and if he pulls in all of the companies that he has endorsing him and possibly some of the even higher profile people he knows from sports and music, he could make this something that changes our nation for all of the people with special needs and for those of us that would be very positively impacted by them being more included in our lives. That would be bigger than basketball and I think he's always known that there are a lot of things bigger than basketball.
No. I believe every word. But is he unbelievable?
In every sense of the term, Dame is truly a role model. Not just because of his prowess on the basketball court but for who he is as a person. His honest commitment to his family, his community, and the people that are his fans is rare and refreshing.
Dame is a person that even after his playing days in the NBA are over I hope he remains in the Portland area. I think he will always have a voice that will benefit all that will listen to it.
Since the passing of Jerome Kersey there has been a void of sports role model that is committed through words and actions to make the community that supported him during his days as a Blazer better. I think Dame can naturally and easily fill that legacy.
I want him to win a title and have a parade on Broadway so bad. Id be there for himI often think about how much I want to be there when we retire Dames number. I want to be there for all of that. Dude is different.

How anybody would trade him is beyond me.
Yeah. It's time for the Blazers to go back to the SPAM days and get this man a Championship. They can afford to spend and get players around him to contend. The time is now.I want him to win a title and have a parade on Broadway so bad. Id be there for him
Because I root for the team more then any one player. How is that hard to understand? How anybody would trade him is beyond me.

Pretty easy to get Stomped around here for that opinion.Because I root for the team more then any one player. How is that hard to understand?
Dame is awesome in many ways, but he's not young, this team doesn't seem close to contending & their best two players play the same position. We all can see it, I'm sure they can too. I'd expect them to explore trade options for both Ant and Dame this offseason and hope they find a deal that they really like. If he's dealt, I'm sure it would be for something the fanbase could be excited about, there's no gun to their head. Also, I can't imagine them moving Dame to a situation where he wouldn't be contending. Regardless of what happens at the end of his career, he will always be an all time great Trailblazer and one of the truly class acts in sports.
STOMP
In my 45 years of Blazer fandom they've yet to consult me on offseason decisions. If someone wants to get bent over my opinions, whatever, I'll likely get a laugh out of it.Pretty easy to get Stomped around here for that opinion.
If they can fetch a king's ransom for Ant and others, have some luck in the lotto & round the team into contention for next season, awesome! I can't say that going into any season since Dame arrived that I've felt they've had a legit shot though. It's been a while since I really embraced their personnel moves and non-moves... hoping to start doing that again soon. Not hard. Trading Dame without going all in on him first however..
