Second baseman Dan Uggla has reached agreement with the Atlanta Braves on a five-year, $62 million contract extension, a league source told ESPN.com. The deal is pending completion of a physical exam, the source said. The Braves acquired Uggla from the Florida Marlins in mid-November in a trade for utilityman Omar Infante and left-handed reliever Mike Dunn. Uggla, 30, made two All-Star teams with Florida and has 154 home runs since his first major league season in 2006.
