Anderson Silva is recovering from a shoulder injury and isn't ready to schedule his next title defense. The UFC have decided to make Chael Sonnen the number one contender to his title in spite of recent protests from Silva's manager Ed Soares and Silva himself. The UFC likely targeted January 14th for the fight, when they will be back in Rio for UFC 142, but it now looks like it won't take place until February or later. Sonnen out-struck Silva 320-64 in their last bout before being submitted by triangle choke/armbar late in the final round.
