So Hendo and Marquardt lose out? What a joke, Dana.

I want to see Vitor/Silva, too. But not right away. He doesn't even have a win in the MW division.

He won't get the shot next. Obviously Marquardt and Hendo have a space in line ahead of him. But if Hendo continues to refuse to fight Marquardt, maybe Dana will say "well I'll just give the shot to Vitor instead." Just as a bargaining tactic. That's what I think this is.

    I can see a Vitor/Wanderlei rematch coming.

    Vitor/Wanderlei would be fun.

I think Dana just created himself a little shit storm when he guaranteed Bisping a title shot, but not Hendo. Then he said Hendo would get the shot, then he said Marquardt or Maia could get the shot with a big win, and then he said Marquardt should fight Hendo.

    A lot of flip flopping.

This is the problem with UFC, Belfort's stock is high right now so he gets to jump the line at 185 despite two other fighters being more deserving. Belfort needs one more quality win IMO.

how I see it breaking down
Hendo vs Silva at NYE show or whenever they can do it
Marquardt vs Belfort @ NYE or January for next shot

Call me a cynic, but I am not sure how much this fight really proves. Franklin just isn't the fighter he used to be. I think the Silva fights real damaged him psychologically.

Besides, a Vitor/Wandy fight could be fun...even if just for nostalgia reasons! :devilwink:

I think Vitor gets the nob basically by default. There just arn't any exciting contenders at 185. Nate and Hendo both lost to Silvia, a rematch isn't terribly interesting. Even if they won Silva would be probably be recognized as the superior fighter.

Hendo barely beat Franklin in a close decision but Vitor won in a minute.

But what I'd really like to see is GSP move up in weight, he doesn't have anything terribly interesting at 170. Yeah he would be an underdog against Silva but if he pulled of the win it'd be legendary.

Vitor should not fight Wandi, because Franklin already beat Wandi. I think, Vitor should fight winner or Hendo/Marq and than winner of that fights Silva for the belt.

    Not going to happen.

If Hendo/Marquardt happens, the winner will have to get a shot @ Silva.

GSP moving up would make 185 a lot more interesting. He said before he'd consider it but he wanted to gain weight the right way so it would take him a long time to get ready for it. Seems like he'd be a light ass 185 lber though. It does open up a lot of interesting matchups at 185 lbs though and would give the division some new life.

We need to see more Silva at 205 IMO. Even if he does refuse a Machida fight.

Silva-Rashad, Silva-Rampage (if he comes back), Silva-Couture (just for legends' sake), Silva-Vitor at any weight, Silva-Thiago Silva.
