<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">There have been signs of crunch-time defense, less fouling and more comfort with defensive rotations amid new player combinations.

But even with six wins in a row, coach Mike D'Antoni is asking his Suns to improve defensively and not rest on its offensive laurels.

"The only problem that we want to really correct is that sometimes we score so easily, it creeps over to the defensive end," said D'Antoni, whose team scored at least 30 points in its past six first quarters. "If we can correct and understand that - although we're scoring easily, we need stops - then we'll be a much better team."

During its first nine games, Phoenix fouled 26.8 times per game. During the win streak that average is down to 20.2. The difference between a 2-4 road record and 7-2 home mark has been the defense, which is allowing 111.7 points per game and 49.2 percent shooting in away games and 99.4 points per game and 44.6 percent shooting at US Airways Center.

"You can see the intensity going up lately (on defense)," co-captain Shawn Marion said. "We've still got some room for improvement, but it's coming."</div>
