Milicic can become a restricted free agent after the season, meaning the Magic can match any offer. "Being in the right place, having good teammates who want to win, good guys. . . . that is more important than money sometime," Milicic said. "If you see those things, that is better for you." Asked whether his agent, Marc Cornstein -- who arrived in town Friday -- felt the same way, Milicic laughed. "Agents are different," he said. "For me, I don't think about it too much now. I got all season." Cornstein likes the way things are going for Milicic in Orlando, saying, "I think it's now likely the team will keep him and more likely he'll stay."</div> this is from today's sentinel...so I guess swish needs to stop hating (at least when darko gets like 10/6 and 4 blocks lol)
Alright, alright, I'll give him a chance. I'll wait until he is fully developed until I judge the guy.
Wait until after the season to say how much to give him. I'm sure he'll take over the starting spot eventually and get more minutes then. Bigs get more money then smalls, so expect him to get more than Jameer regardless. I'll be shocked if he signs for somewhere less than 7-8 mil a year. I'd guess about 8-9 mil a year for 5 years so somewhere around the 5 year 40-45 mil ballpark range.
I'm in the same boat as Swish, I can't say I overly like him. I also agree with Gators, I hope they wait til this season is over to develop a reasonable deal. Otis is a smart guy so I don't think he'll offer him anything insane.
I personally don't like Darko either. I mean he's a decent player, but signing him to an extreme is just a little far out there. We have to wait to see how he does by the end of this season.
