Re: darnik44's 2007 NFL DRAFT Preview

Positional Rankings- Colt Brennan's going back to school, but even if he did come out, he'd be without a question the 3rd QB on the board.- Kolb should go in Front of Stanton as well IMO.- Joe Newton's a greater prospect then Speath or Harris (And I'm a Rutgers fan lol)- Joe Staley, Tony Ugoh > Doug Free, Ryan Harris. - Jared Gaither, T, Maryland should be ranked.- Ben Grubbs > Ramirez- Marshal Yanda > Jones, Duckworth- Samson Steele should be listed as a Center- Jon Beason, Earl Everett > Rufus Alexander- H.B. Blades should be dropped, Davis and Siler should be higher.- Chris Houston should be higher, Tanard Jackson lower. Top 275- H.B. Blades, Josh Beekman, Daymeion Hughes, Rufus Alexander, Brandon Meriweather, Troy Smith, Drew Stanton too high- Lawrence Timmons, Kenny Irons, Eric Weddle, Anthony Spencer, Chris Houston, Josh Wilson, Adam Carriker, Ben Grubbs, Ray McDonald, Joe Staley, Tony Ugoh, Marshal Yanda to lowI'm too lazy to go through the rest of the other 175.Draft - Jacksonville has Mike Peterson, their need at linebacker is more on the Outside. - Poslusney doesn't seem very Patriot like, they like sizeable Linebackers, and most of their current linebackers were College DE's.- H.B. Blades is a Second Rounder, as is Josh Beekman and Aaron Ross- Alexander and Meriweather (Worst character player in the Draft) are too high.- TE isn't a pressing need for the Jets, we have Chris Baker who is solid and we'll look to get a Second Tight End either through Free Agency (Daniel Graham, Eric Johnson) or with a Mid-Rounder (Clark Harris).- Troy Smith too high, Woodley too low IMO.- Jets would probably take Wilson or Bennett before Jackson IMO.- It would be highway robbery if Adam Carriker fell that far, he's gonna go in the Late First Round, Early Second Round, Pats don't have a day one need for a DE with Seymour, Wilfork, and Warren on the line.- Hunt, Grubbs, Staley, McDonald should Round 2 picks, Yanda Late Round 2 - Early Round 3.- Jets already have a small RB in Leon Washington. They'll look for more of a sizeable back like Michael Turner, Michael Bush, or Brian Leonard.

Re: darnik44's 2007 NFL DRAFT Preview

With the Ravens already having Jason Brown and Chris Chester, I don't see us drafting a guard and center first 2 rounds. Both guards started this past season and did a decent job. Brown started I think around 10 games, if not more. Chester started 2 or 3 games for Keydrick Vincent. Chester is also a guard or center so I think either we take the guard first round or the center 2nd round, not both.I think in the first round we'll take Michael Bush, Buster Davis, Lawrence Timmons of the people behind Grubbs. With the 2nd round pick, I like Kalil. With the 3rd round pick, I think we take RB or a LB, depending on what we do with the previous 2 picks. And I'm wondering... where's Mason Crosby?

Wow, this must've taken ages to type.Rams draft is fine. You should just give us Reggie Nelson, Chris Leak or some other Florida player in the first round. Then we can draft all Florida players.

Did I click new topic and sit there and type, no. I have files saved in a spread sheet. I put it together once at a different site and then copy and pasted it here and some other places. There's always gotta be one that questions my effort.

He's not questioning you, he's just wondering if you really did all of that work. Relax dude, if you're so uptight like that people are going to think you have a guilty conscience [IMG]

That's alot of work, time, and effort to have someone blindly question it's authenticity.

Again, he wasn't questioning it. Not to speak for him, but he's just in awe that you did so much work. At least that's the way it came across to me.

Not to speak for him, but he's just in awe that you did so much work. At least that's the way it came across to me.</div>Well, like I said I get an early start. The way I do it is I use a spreadsheet. I start by basically compiling a data base of draft eligible players. In time I'll add Ht. and Wt. and so on. During the college season I'll watch and tape alot of games and then start tweeking the rankings. The reason I use a spreadsheet is because I can cut out blocks of player and move them around. You can also make a spreadsheet as big as you want, so I'll have a place for positional rankings, top prospects, and a mock draft skeleton. When I do a mock I'll copy a list of the top prospects next to the mock draft skeleton and just cut and paste each selection. Anyone familiar with microsoft spreadsheet and into the draft should try this method. In addition to this I also made around 150 draft sigs. Between the draft rankings and the sigs, I really only had to invest about 1 hour per day.
