This guy has turned out to be a huge pickup for the Vikings. He already has 7 picks, and he has been outstanding in coverage as of late. He definately deserves to make the Pro Bowl. It's also nice to see a decent defense coming together. I really like how the Vikings have been blitzing a lot more, and using more stunts as well. I really think its interesting how well our defense has been playing ever since Fred Smoot has been injured. Hopefully we lock up Brian Williams in the offseason.
Do you think there is a relationship there? I have heard that theory, and I personally don't buy it. Smoot is a very good corner. I just think the defense found its identity a bit more once Smoot got injured...freak coincidence, that's all. Of course, if we get lit up for 400 yards and 30 points in the game where Smoot comes back, there will be questions. Sharper has been a huge pickup for us, but none bigger (quite literally) than Pat Williams. The guy is absolutely destructive on the line.
As long as Sharper can stay healthy he's a great player but the last couple of seasons he's been on the injury report every other week. Minnesota needed him though. He's def going back to the Pro Bowl this year in my opinion. Pat Williams has been chaos like VF said in the backfield. I'd like to see a better year out of Kevin Williams. He seems quiet this season and I thought with Pat Williams taking some pressure off of him he would of gone off the charts.
Yeah, but K Williams had a bad offseason. He had surgery, reported overweight and out of shape. I personally think he is still being bothered by an injury. The good news is that Mosely looked awesome yesterday playing next to P Williams. I think next year we'll find that we have a pretty solid offensive line.
Whatever happen to Spencer Johnson? He started a couple of games at DT last season and I thought for a rookie he played well. Did he dissapear. I was watching the game yesterday and didn't see him get in there.

Now he's back to spelling at the DT position.

I was hoping that Sharper would be relatively inexpensive and that Dallas might pursue him. He is looking good this year. I don't know if it is applicable or not, but sometimes when a defense loses a player like Smoot, they have to alter their scheme even slightly. Sometimes that scheme shift is enough to help the defense click better, especially one with several new players.
