Dashers Four Goals in Third Period Down Privateers

    The 1000 Privateers fell in a close match to the Danville Dashers. Danville sunk the Privateers in the third period by scoring four-goals to make the score 7 to 5.

    Danville opened up the scoring with a goal by Ryan Stern 7:52 into the period.

    The scoring began in the second when the Privateers jumped out to a 2-1 lead. 1000 Islands Luke Frey scored the first of two goals with 19:05 left in the period. Peter Campbell followed with a powerplay goal 8:25 into the period. Danville responded with two goals to put themselves back on top. The Dasher's Billy Hunt scored the first goal which was followed by a Ryan Stern goal. Privateers Luke Frey scored his second goal of the period to tie up the score.

    The third period was all Danville. The Dashers opened up the period with three consecutive goals. The Privateers answered back with two more goals to pull within one, including a goal by Luke Frey to give him a powerplay for the night. Danville added a late goal by Dustin Skinner on an empty net with twelve seconds left.

    The Privateers play their next game tomorrow night against Danbury at Danbury.
